Job Description

The Pacific Northwest National Lab is seeking a Finance & Budget Manager
-Responsible for stewardship of Laboratory assets resulting in: (1) accurate Lab Level business projections; (2) achievement of all Lab financial targets; (3) strategic investment of discretionary resources; and (4) Lab efficiencies.
-Provides financial advice and counsel to the CFO and Lab Leadership Team that facilitates development of annual business planning to achieve Laboratory strategy.
-Manages Lab overhead rates and coordination of all organizational rates to minimize cost growth and other negative impacts on project managers and customers while at the same time assuring recovery of all Lab operating costs.
-Responsible for Laboratory level and Corporate financial reporting.
-Manages business office staff deployed to provide direct customer support.
-Manages the BSD internship and specialist-in-training programs.

Required Technical Competencies:
-Financial analysis
-Knowledge of CAS, FAR and GAAP
-Knowledge of the DOE and governmental budgeting processes
-Strong written and verbal communications skills
-Knowledge of the DOE Accounting Handbook

Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of relevant experience; OR, a Master’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience.
-Typical related management experience should include initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field.
