Job Description

The High Performance Computing (HPC) Group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks a student intern researcher to participate in novel research in one or more of the following areas: advanced architecture design and analysis; system software and runtime systems; and HPC application and system performance prediction and optimization. Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:
Participate in research in areas of interest to ongoing PNNL HPC group projects
Interact with HPC group staff on technical areas of interest
Work closely with staff mentor to design and conduct experiments potentially leading towards publishable results

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be currently enrolled/matriculated in a PhD program at an accredited college. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more topic areas of interest (i.e., HPC applications and systems; runtime software systems; performance modeling, simulation, prediction, and optimization) strongly preferred
Ability to work in a close team environment
Ability to clearly distill and present research findings

Currently working towards an advanced degree in the area of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or closely related technical field.

Preferred GPA: 3.25
