Post Doctorate RA - Integrative Omics
Full/Part Time: Full-Time
This postdoctoral position requires a highly motivated, adaptable, and capable individual with a Ph.D. degree preferably in biochemistry, molecular biology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, analytical chemistry, or closely related field. The research involves a range of proteomics technologies and methodologies to solve exciting biological and biomedical challenges, such as protein signaling in human health processes or high-throughput biomolecular structure-function. Methods and applications use both global and targeted quantitative proteomics using advanced LC-MS and bioinformatics capabilities at PNNL. Additionally, new technology developments are often available to extend the applied research. The ideal candidate may have comprehensive background in relevant biology domains (e.g. human performance and aging, cancer, protein structure-function, etc.) and/or experience in both sample preparation and data analysis of quantitative proteome, phosphoproteome and other PTM-ome characterizations of biological sample. Expertise in computational biology will be a strong plus. Research will emphasize elucidating the biological interpretation of high-throughput omics data from optimized traditional platforms and new developing methods/platforms. This research may include the development/optimization/application of front-end sample preparation, separation strategies and enrichment methods for quantitative analysis of proteins and PTMs, as well as associated data analysis and interpretation. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate is also expected to assist and lead the preparation and presentation of manuscripts, posters, reports, etc. Additionally he/she will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook and adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations and security requirements and directorate/group policies.
