Job Description

-Responsible for performing clerical and administrative financial/accounting activities in support of the maintenance, control, analysis and development of complex financial/accounting records, reports, and systems.
-Assists Finance & Accounting Professionals in providing advice and services to management and staff to ensure compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, policies and good business practices.
-Assists in the adherence to and communication of policies and procedures, including training and interpretation for the various organizations supported.
-Routinely audit and reconcile vendor/supplier purchase order and subcontract payment invoice information.
-Enter invoice information into source transaction payment system and associate receiving as necessary.
-Have a solid understanding of and be proficient in the processing of foreign invoices and issuance of wire payments.
-Apply tax and freight charges in accordance with state requirements and DOE guidelines.
-Have a solid understanding of the W-9 and foreign tax form processes in regards to tax reporting for vendors.
-Identify available discounts and strive to meet discount periods.
-Influence timely payment of PNNL obligations by ensuring effective cycle time in accordance with DOE cash management guidelines and resolving invoice problems efficiently.
-Respond to internal and external customer requests for payment information.
-Prioritize workload while working independently, with minimal supervision.
-Exercise judgement and apply comprehensive knowledge to complex invoice audits (e.g., travel audits with multiple locations and travelers).

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma and 6+ years of relevant work experience or relevant Associate’s degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

-Prior accounting experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
-Knowledge of PeopleSoft Purchasing & Acquisitions System
