PhD Intern - Power Systems
Full/Part Time: Part-Time
The Electric Infrastructure (EI) group at Pacific Northwest National Lab seeks a summer intern to conduct research in the following areas:
• Prepare distribution system models, parameters and scenario data.
• Perform sequential power flow analysis for specific test systems using GridLAB-D.
• Perform co-simulations for distribution system models and transmission system models.

Candidates must be currently enrolled/matriculated in a PhD program at an accredited college. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
Must have solid background in power system engineering.
Must have experiences in distribution systems simulations and modeling.
Must have experiences in programming language: Python and Matlab
Must have experiences in one or more distribution system software tools: GridLAB-D, OpenDSS
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical ability
Experience in optimal power flow is a plus.
Ph.D. students in electric power system or related field.
