High School Science Programs Student - YWiS - Electricity Infrastructure Integration Intern (Summer)
Full/Part Time: Part-Time
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking ambitious, high-caliber sophomore, junior or senior high school students for intern assignments within the High School Young Women in Science (YWiS) Program. This summer internship is a research-based educational experience for sophomores, juniors and senior females. The students must have an expressed interest in and potential for educational opportunities and careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM).
The student will be split between two different projects. The first project is designed to conduct an in-depth analysis of the evolving value proposition for hydropower resources in the country. The project will also help the DOE design it's future research agenda in this topic area. The second project is developing methods to reconfigure distribution systems operating as islands after events in the transmission system.
