COE Program - HS SBI - Technology Deployment & Outreach Admin (Academic)
Full/Part Time: Part-Time
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking ambitious, high-caliber junior or senior high school students for intern assignments within the High School Student Business Intern (HS SBI) program. This internship provides an opportunity for high school students interested in business careers to work during the academic year with a mentor in a specified business area. Students attend regular classes in their school for half a day and work up to four hours a day, five days each week at the Laboratory.
Student will perform various administrative duties within TDO. He/she will assist 2 administrators and 13 other staff. These may include scheduling meetings and assisting with logistics and setting up for meetings, picking up and distributing the mail, website and/or SharePoint content updates, ordering supplies, manning our coffee station, refilling printer toners and papers, ordering flyers and business cards from the duplicating office, IP Manager and EERE portal work, and answering telephones.

- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in a public or private high school.
- Applicants must be 16 years of age by August 2018.
- Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (from beginning of 9th grade to current standing).
Relevant Course Work Desired: Interest in pursuing a business or administrative degree; a degree in information technology or related field.
Computer Skills Desired: The student must be able to effectively operate PC computer systems, electronic mail, internet, search engines and current software including Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and be familiar with the use of standard office equipment.
Other Desired Skills: The student intern will be providing routine and complex administrative support to the Technology Deployment & Outreach Group.We are looking for someone who is eager to learn new things and how we do business in a national laboratory. This position requires someone who is flexible to work with a wide variety of people, a self-starter, detail oriented, has a sense of urgency, a go-getter who is pro-active, a great attitude and motivated to make the most of his/her internship.
