Full/Part Time: Full-Time
This position involves contributing to and developing human-computer interaction, human-machine teaming, or visualization research activities. The incumbent will create new visual analysis technologies or interaction techniques to help users draw insight from complex data and leveraging human cognition.
Range of projects span from basic to applied research. Technical areas includes data and computational engineering, human cognition, high-performance computing, applied mathematics, semantic and human language technologies, human-machine teaming, machine learning, data and computing architectures, systems integration, and software and application development.
The incumbent will work side by side with practitioners to apply advanced theories, methods, algorithms, models, evaluation tools and testbeds, and computational-based solutions address complex scientific challenges affecting energy, biological sciences, the environment, and national security.

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Preferred academic coursework in the disciplines of computer science, human computer interaction, visual analytics, cognitive modeling, cognitive psychology, human factors engineering, or related disciplines.
