Post Doctorate RA - Hydroclimate Modeling
Full/Part Time: Full-Time
PNNL is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist to improve understanding and modeling of hydrological extremes and the role of land-atmosphere interactions. The successful candidate will perform analysis of observations and design modeling experiments using climate and hydrologic models to elucidate processes that influence the predictability of hydrologic extremes. Working with PNNL scientists, the candidate will also develop diagnostics and metrics to understand and quantify model skill and the impacts of land-atmosphere interactions.
Equal Employment Opportunity
PNNL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer that is committed to hiring a diverse, talented workforce. EOE Disability/Vet/M/F/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity. Staff at PNNL must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.
Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Hydrology, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or related subjects is required. Familiarity with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, WRF-hydro, and other climate and hydrologic modeling systems will be considered favorably during the evaluation.
